I was looking for a book that can teach me the essentials in ER but also transfer practical knowledge. I found this book very helpful. One of the strongest points is that it takes the reader from the basics and builds solid knowledge around the topic with the input of the real life examples. The discussion of the case studies is an added value. Highly recommended!!

Book content great but did not expect an A5 version at all. It's rather small for the price!

I'd love more practical examples of ER cases, but aside that, it seems to be a good introduction to ER.

I didn't expect too much of this book. There are already far too many books on this subject, many of them very weak and unoriginal. This one is genuinely useful. It's structured so that it serves as an introductory guide and as a resource for those who are already familiar with the basics. The focus is on practice, but this is backed up with some solid discussion. I would recommend this book for anyone studying ER, but also for anyone who simply needs to understand a bit more about how the relationship between employer and employee works (and why it sometimes doesn't).

Liz Aylott has written a book that not only HR practitioners can use but anyone wanting to understand current issues facing hr and how to tackle it can use this book easily. The writing style is uncomplicated and jargon free and the data used to address the points are current allowing the reader to internalise the concepts easily as it is here and now! Well done

Liz has a capacity to write very clearly so that the reader is in no doubt about their options and what to do. She does not duck away from complexity but addresses alll of the key issues. This book is a great companion both fo r HR practitioners as well as those studying for their HR qualifications.

Snoozeville, this was a poor read and very little content about employee relations in the US.
