My (170W) slow cooker doesn't have thermostatic control , so ' medium' setting ultimately, and undesirably , boils the contents. Bought this to turn it off for a while and then turn it back on. It works like a gem. Its dead easy to program - I have 16 steps ( on/off 8 times ) - and ,say, the seventh step can be altered without affecting the others. There are all sorts of permutations. Its digital so its kicks-in to the second and it keeps its settings if you pull out the plug and put it in a drawer. Doesn't 'crowd out' the other plug on my 2-way socket. Has a top build quality.

Just wanted a one time slot on/off per day, every day, but not an old mechanical noisy timer. Obviously this can be programmed for more time slots and for different days of the week, but even if you don't need that functionality this also does a simple one on/off every day without fuss. I looked at all the options out there and glad I choose this. Simple to program... ok it's not 100% simple but everything makes sense, and unless you've never used an electronic item in the past 20 years, it is sensibly straightforward. The LCD is not overly big - which I like (who needs a huge plastic display on a timer plug!), the rubber projecting buttons work well, overall solid construction and good quality plastic, nothing silly about it, or distracting lights illuminating, etc, battery back up works great, nothing whatsoever to grumble about, wish all modern products were like this. Just does the job without a fuss. Good to have two in the box, as once you've got the hang of programming one, the second is doubly easy.

The timers are not bulky which a big plus. The display window is a good size and not to cluttered with information. Setting up is very easy and adjustment to bst/gmt time is simple to apply. One suggestion the instructions that came with is difficult to read. It would help if this is on-line when purchasing. Otherwise very good product.

If you already have a timer similar to this you will know that the instruction books can be on a par with reading ' War and Peace'. A quick tip which might help. When setting the manual timer, for the first time. it pays to push the button until both Auto and Off display simultaneously with Auto above the Off . Hopefully this will make life easier. Otherwise a great product.

Brought to time some lights at home. The programing was not the easiest but not difficult, just make sure you do it all quickly!! However once set they work reliably with no current issues. I would buy again if required.

Just don't get this 20 Settings for a 7 day week Should have made it simple hit day then On 5 pm off 9 pm or whatever time required this just throws up like random days gives you Mon to Fri Then tue we'd thur Then Mon thur sat Tue Fri Sun Totally confused Just wondering if someone could tell why you need 20 Settings
