We use it to help our 4year old get a sense of time. It works a treat to limit screentime with his tablet. We give him 15mins. 2minutes before the end the amber light comes on, we tell him "you have 2 more minutes" then the red light comes up. and he switches the tablet off himself. Excellent tool! I always leave an honest review, and I usually have an improvement or two that could be made. However, this has proven to be the most valuable tool in our household, without a doubt. My son is 5, autistic, needs to know exactly what's coming and is rigid in his routines. The time tracker has become the sole reliance for him to understand when something starts, is nearly over, and when something has to end. It changes from green, through yellow and finally red. It also has the benefit of a countdown on top, which my son finds useful and enjoys (he loves numbers). There is a short tune that plays in between the colours and another at the very end. It is extremely useful that this has a volume control for those autistic people who may be sound sensitive, like my son, who prefers a lower volume. USEFUL TIP: My son is very sensory and quite light sensitive, so I was glad that the lights on the timer do not reach all the way around. As there is no option to dim the lights, I turn it slightly into the wall so that the light does not affect him as much. There are numerous options and it is quite tricky to get to grips with it to begin with, but once you've got the hang of the controls, you're good to go. There is a timer option, which you can choose how long each light colour will last for, very useful for those who struggle with ending a task as you can prolong the red colour. And there is an auto timer option, whereby you set an amount of time and the timer averages out how long each colour should be (red being the shortest), this works for my son, but may not for some. Before the time tracker, we struggled with telling our son when something was about to begin or end (bathtimes, iPad, time to get dressed, how long before we go out), he would constantly ask "how long" without really understanding time. Life has become so much easier since we bought this brilliant tool! It seems pricey but honestly, it's worth more than its weight in gold and I'm certain this will be a brilliant resource to any parent or family with a child who struggles with time, whether autistic or not. Edit: my son is now 10 and doesn’t need this as much, we now have a two year old daughter with suspected autism that I will test this out on… watch this space!!

I thought for a long while before purchasing this item as I felt it was rather expensive for what it was however with a 3 year old needing some screen time boundaries I decided to take the plunge. I am useless with technology but find this very easy to use. It’s simplistic but this works for me. Especially good for letting little one know when an activity is about to change and I’ve found this has prevented meltdowns on a number of occasions-priceless! Only down side is I haven’t been able to work out how to cancel the timer or change it once it’s set...

As a mother of children with special needs I've found this time tracker indispensable. The first one I bought was faulty so they sent me one out the same day and then I returned the original no problems. We use it for transitions as this can be particularly difficult. The lights and sounds make it super easy for the children to understand and it has solved many a meltdown from starting. I'm now on my third as I dropped it downstairs and broke it. I can't find anything as useful or similar to this.

I have ADHD and I wanted to use this for myself and my children to help organise our work. In theory this is the perfect item. It's bright, durable, clear and has visual and auditory reminders that the time is running out. HOWEVER, I cannot work the darn thing. It is SO complicated to set up that I end up getting really annoyed and putting it away again EVERY time I try to use it. My husband does not have this kind of problem and even he says it's the most badly designed interface he's seen. Given that lots of children with the kind of executive function problem that makes this kind of equipment useful also have parents with the same problems, one would think that this particular part of the timer would be easier to use. And teens and children trying to use it for themselves may manage to work it out, but I'm afraid it's beyond me and my children without getting the blood pressure up before we've even begun. I've tried for the last 30 minutes to set it to no avail. I get to the 'press menu' part and the whole thing starts again, shouting 'begin' at me every time I touch a button.

Love this timer. My daughter likes traffic lights so this timer has really helped her transition when it’s time to stop an activity, go to bed etc. I love that this can be set to countdown any time, unlike the sand timers where you have to have a different one for each amount of time. Volume is adjustable and the ‘auto timer’ feature is easy to use. I haven’t bothered setting my own timings for each colour although you can if you want to. My only gripe with it is if you accidentally set it off on the wrong time, you have to wait for the time to run out or use a small pin (I use a bobby pin hair clip) to push in the small reset button. Would be easier if it could be cancelled using the normal buttons but it’s a small annoyance and it’s otherwise great.

We’ve found this to be a good visual timer and has been of some success with our child with additional needs. Quite easy to use and amend the timing of each coloured section but would be better if the audio timer lasted longer or if you were able to configure this directly yourself.

Lo uso con mi hija de 2 años porque ahora quiere hacerlo todo sola y uso el color verde para darle tiempo para hacer las cosas ella sola y el amarillo para mí, o para que vea que se le acaba el tiempo. Lo uso para lavarse los dientes o para ver los dibujos. El primer día que se lo puse con los dibujos lo tiró al suelo jajajja pero le digo que si no lo ponemos, no le dejo verlos y ya lo asume. Eso sí, me parece caro para lo que es pero no lo encontré más barato.

Ce minuteur lumineux est top! C'est vraiment formidable pour gérer une classe. Que ce soit en cycle 1, en cycle 2 ou en cycle 3. Les élèves s'auto disciplinent. C'est incroyable! Le système permet un réglage de la lumière verte, de la lumière orange puis de la lumière rouge. Un autre système permet un réglage encore plus rapide. Dans ce cas, on indique la durée totale. Dans ce cas, 80% est dédié à la lumière verte, 15% à la lumière orange puis 5% à la lumière rouge. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas un crochet pour le suspendre. Le plastique est dur donc cassant en cas de chute. Dommage que le minuteur ne soit pas recouvert d'un caoutchouc souple et résistant (ex: type enceinte JBL Flip 3 ;-) Je conseille vivement ce produit aux professeurs des école. A bon entendeur.
